What The Job Looks Like
Full-Time | In-Person | Boerne, Texas
The Media Specialist is responsible for capturing high-quality photography and video content for Droptine Studios and its clients. This is a field-production-focused position involving frequent travel, on-location photography and videography, equipment management, media organization, and post-production. The Media Specialist is expected to take ownership of the entire media workflow—from preparing for a shoot and capturing content to organizing footage, editing photography, and completing assigned video projects.
Responsibilities
- Travel to ranches, businesses, events, studios, trade shows, and other client locations.
- Capture professional photography and videography according to Droptine Studios' quality standards.
- Operate professional cameras, lenses, lighting, audio, tripods, gimbals, and other production equipment.
- Operate drones when qualified.
- Apply proper composition, framing, exposure, lighting, audio, camera movement, and shot selection.
- Capture planned content from shot lists while also identifying creative opportunities that improve the final project.
- Assist with interviews, testimonials, lifestyle shoots, wildlife shoots, commercial productions, podcasts, events, and other production types.
- Set up and break down cameras, lighting, audio, backdrops, and production equipment.
- Represent Droptine Studios professionally when interacting with clients and guests.
- Adapt to changing weather, lighting, wildlife, schedules, locations, and client requests.
- Cull, organize, edit, and retouch photography.
- Perform exposure and color correction, cropping, sharpening, masking, retouching, and other necessary adjustments.
- Export photography for web, social media, print, client delivery, and internal use.
- Properly offload, organize, label, and back up video footage following company standards.
- Identify strong footage, important interviews, key moments, and potential issues for the editing team.
- Edit short-form social media videos, reels, highlight videos, and smaller client projects.
- Assemble rough cuts and perform basic color correction and audio adjustments.
- Assist the Video Editor with larger projects.
- Review project briefs, participate in production meetings, develop shot lists, and assist with pre-production.
- Prepare, test, and maintain all equipment before production.
- Maintain equipment check-in/check-out procedures and assist with inventory.
- Communicate equipment needs, production requirements, and potential issues to the appropriate team members.
Qualifications
- Experience in professional photography, videography, media production, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of photography and video production fundamentals.
- Experience operating professional cameras and production equipment.
- Knowledge of composition, framing, exposure, lighting, audio, camera movement, and shot selection.
- Experience editing photography and video.
- Familiarity with photo and video editing software.
- Ability to organize and manage large volumes of digital media.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining organized media and file structures.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned projects.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with photographers, videographers, editors, project managers, and other team members.

The Video Editor is responsible for transforming raw footage captured by the Droptine Studios production team into polished, professional video content for clients across social media, websites, YouTube, podcasts, advertising campaigns, and other digital platforms. This is a post-production-focused position requiring strong storytelling, organization, technical editing skills, creativity, and an understanding of social media content. The Video Editor will also occasionally support Media Specialists on location with production needs.
Responsibilities
- Create engaging short-form video content for Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and other platforms.
- Turn long-form footage into compelling short-form content.
- Identify strong hooks, engaging moments, and stories within raw footage.
- Edit videos with pacing appropriate for social media and digital audiences.
- Add captions, graphics, logos, music, sound effects, transitions, and other visual elements.
- Create content in vertical, square, and horizontal formats
- Edit YouTube videos, interviews, testimonials, educational content, branded storytelling pieces, commercial videos, and promotional content.
- Build multi-camera sequences and synchronize professional audio.
- Select B-roll that strengthens the story and maintains viewer engagement.
- Edit Droptine Studios and client podcasts when applicable.
- Synchronize multiple camera and audio sources for podcast production.
- Clean and balance audio and remove unnecessary pauses, mistakes, interruptions, and technical issues.
- Create full-length podcast episodes as well as social media clips and promotional reels.
- Organize and review raw footage and identify the strongest takes.
- Create rough cuts and complete revisions.
- Perform color correction and basic color grading.
- Select appropriate music and maintain consistent client branding.
- Add titles, graphics, captions, logos, and motion elements.
- Export videos according to platform specifications.
- Properly organize and archive completed projects and maintain accessible project files.
- Assist with basic photography editing and large photography projects when needed.
- Support Media Specialists during on-location productions, including lighting, cameras, audio, interviews, B-roll, and equipment.
- Assist with podcast production and equipment setup/breakdown.
- Act as a second shooter when qualified.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in professional video editing, post-production, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of video editing, storytelling, pacing, and visual composition.
- Experience creating both short-form and long-form video content.
- Experience editing content for social media platforms.
- Strong understanding of vertical, square, and horizontal video formats.
- Experience working with multi-camera footage and synchronizing audio.
- Knowledge of color correction, basic color grading, and audio editing.
- Strong understanding of file organization, project management, and media workflows.
- Ability to maintain organized project files so projects can be accessed and modified by other editors.
